Professionals - Mark A. Robbin, M.D.,
David
N. Schwartz, M.D., Sonia Uchman, M.D., Amber
Trudel, MSN, NP and the medical staff operate as a team. The staff is highly
proficient in taking the medical history, outlining therapy and explaining medical disorders, diseases, diets and drugs
(see
patient education). The staff is often the first line of contact for
patients. Whenever possible, the staff interviews the patient first, then the
physician evaluates the medical history and the patient. If necessary, there
may be a group meeting with
medical staff, patient, family and physician. Each day, the
medical staff and physicians meet to discuss medical problems, telephone
calls and patient inquiries.
Family Doctor - Since our role is to provide specialized care in
gastroenterology, you will still need your family or personal doctor for other
medical conditions. After your evaluation here, you will be referred back to
your primary care physician. If you need regular treatment by a
gastroenterologist, we will continue to manage the gastroenterology problem
with your physician's approval. We will provide regular detailed reports to
insure the best care and communication.
Second Opinions - Occasionally, a medical problem is unique or rare.
There may be questions about the best approach to a disorder. Under these
circumstances, we may solicit additional opinions from whoever and
wherever will best serve our patient. If you ever think a second opinion would be
helpful, please mention it.
The majority of the procedures are done in the
outpatient department at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Diagnostic,
screening, and flexible sigmoidoscopy can be conveniently done in our office
setting. Click the Procedure
section under the Patient
Education portion of this web page to learn about specific procedures. In
close proximity to Attleboro Gastroenterology is Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where
endoscopies are performed.
Patient Education - The more a patient
knows about his/her disorder, the better the result. The Patient
Education section on this web site has lots of this information that will
help you manage your disorder and prepare for related procedures. At the end of
the Patient
Education section, you can link to additional sources
that may offer more specific information on your medical condition.
Comfort - The decor throughout the office has been designed to be
comfortable. We do not like to keep our patients waiting and we strive to do everything
that we can to conserve your
time.
