Common Bile Duct Stone



Left: 22 year-old woman with biliary pancreatitis. ERCP demonstrated a filling defect within a dilated common bile duct; after performing a papillotomy, this stone was extracted using a balloon catheter (still in place within the duct).

Center: 41 year-old woman who had presented with biliary pancreatitis. Two filling defects within the common duct were seen at ERCP. Two cuboidal-shaped stones were successfully extracted following papillotomy. Shown here is the second stone being extracted, with the edge of the first stone just below.

Right: 78 year-old man with abdominal pain, jaundice and fever. Two stones were extracted following papillotomy.
