Gastric Metaplasia



Left: 79 year-old man with gastrointestinal bleeding and anemia. Upper endoscopy revealed this nodular process in the duodenal bulb, which on biopsy proved to be moderately inflamed gastric mucosa.

Center: 84 year-old woman with dyspepsia and anemia. Upper endoscopy demonstrated mucosal nodularity of the duodenal bulb, which on biopsy proved to be gastric mucosa with chronic inflammation.

Right: Prominent solitary nodular focus of gastric metaplasia in the duodenal bulb. An incidental finding in 52 year-old woman with dyspepsia and vomiting.
