Adenomatous Gastric Polyp


Smooth, benign-appearing gastric polyp grossly indistinguishable from hyperplastic polyps, this lesion surprisingly proved to be a tubular adenoma with high-grade dysplasia on biopsy, and was therefore subsequently excised.


39 year-old woman with hereditary colonic polyposis. Benign gastric fundic gland polyps, which these appear to be grossly, are common in colonic polyposis; however, some of these gastric polyps exhibited focal adenomatous change histologically.
