Marginal Ulcer


76 year-old woman with hematemesis (vomiting blood), with a history of having undergone previous subtotal gastrectomy for refractory ulcer disease. Endoscopy revealed two small anastomotic ulcers, one of which had a small amount of oozing of blood.


72 year-old woman with hematemesis (vomiting blood), who had undergone previous subtotal gastrectomy for peptic ulcer disease. She continued to take large amounts of aspirin for arthritis. Endoscopy demonstrated anastomotic ulceration, involving both the afferent and efferent limbs of the gastrojejunostomy.
